From Peel to Perfection

If we think of a lemon, we all picture this perfect yellow fruit with a beautiful shape and smooth outside. But what happens if the lemon has an odd shape, too little, too big or just a bit ugly. Sadly, they get thrown away.

At Full Circle we believe all fruit is beautiful! We take the rejected lemons and capture their flavour in our Limoncello. We handpeel the zest and use this as the basis for a fresh lemon liqueur. The fruit gets juiced and the juice is used by other producers. This way we save the entire fruit from getting wasted.

How It is made

01 The Lemon

Not every lemon is perfect. We take the odd & ugly ones and capture their perfect flavour

02 The Juice

The peeled lemons get juiced and the juice is used by other producers. By doing this we can save the entire lemon from getting wasted.

03 Collection and peeling

We only use biological lemons and use a thinpeeler to extract the zest, the yellow outer layer which holds the essential lemon oils. This gives the bright and fresh lemon flavour to our liqueur.

04 Distillery

We combine two techniques to extract the lemon flavour. Part of the lemons are put in pure grain alcohol and macerated for 5 weeks to slowly extract the flavour and the colour of the lemons. This gives a fresh lemon flavour with an oily texture.

The other part of the lemons is distilled. This gives a warm and deep lemon taste. It also gives a natural sweetness and a smooth body to the liqueur.

05 Full Circle Limoncello

After adding water and a little sugar, Full Circle Limoncello is complete. A fresh and bright lemon liqueur.
